School Councils
Prayer and social action are an integral part of the Catholic life of our school. At St James the Less, we have an enthusiastic team of Gift Chaplains/Caritas Ambassadors who play an important role in leading prayer and worship and promoting social action projects in school.
Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.
The School Council is a group of pupils who are elected by their class mates to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school.
The School Council meets, with a teacher present, to discuss and sort out problems. These may include school lunches, ideas for fundraising events etc. Members of the School Council are responsible for carrying out the ideas they have agreed, such as cake sales and bags2schools. They also helped with ideas for the design of the new junior playground.
